Days of Steam returned this year, bigger and better than before in celebration of the Exbury Steam Railway’s 25th anniversary.
Timed to celebrate the Father’s Day weekend, this busy event combines a model railway exhibition in the engine shed, accompanied by a display of scale models; a traction engine gathering, culminating in a “puff past” at Exbury House; and a celebration of steam locomotives on Exbury’s Steam Railway.
This year we were joined by two visiting engines. From Statfold Barn Railway, in Staffordshire, we welcomed Carol Ann, a powerful loco built by Exmoor Steam Railway. We were also be joined by Daisy the diesel, from Littlehampton Miniature Railway, who bears a striking resemblance to Toby the Tram from Thomas the Tank Engine!
Add to the mix an amazing vocal performance from the Silhouette Show, on the platform, and the result was a wonderfully nostalgic celebration of all things steam, and a great family day out!

Days of Steam will return across the Father’s Day weekend next year (19th-20th June 2027).
