There are several ways you can help
Gift Aid
Gift Aid is a scheme that increases the value of donations given to charities like us by UK tax payers. It allows us to claim an extra 25p from the government for every £1 that people donate, provided that two rules are followed:
The annual right of admission rule.
This means that if you become a Friends of Exbury member, the whole of your membership fee is regarded as a donation, as it grants you admission for a year. The whole amount is, therefore, eligible for Gift Aid.
The admission charge plus 10% rule.
This means that, if a donation is made of at least 10% more than the cost of standard admission, this combined payment is eligible for Gift Aid. This is why the admission charge with Gift Aid is 10% more than the standard charge. Please note that we are able to claim 25p for every £1 of the whole amount (admission fee plus donation), not just the additional 10%.
Donations
Donations may be made at any of the gardens’ admission tills. We really appreciate all donations – large and small. If you are a UK tax payer, please consider Gift Aid as this will increase the value of your donation by 25p for every £1 donated.
Volunteering
Are you a keen gardener and/or like spending time outdoors? Why not become an Exbury volunteer, helping the gardens team care for our spectacular 200-acre garden that’s been over 100 years in the making?

Tree Sponsorship
Your sponsorship will be used to plant a new tree in the gardens, and we will display a plaque with your dedication on our memorial board close to the Visitor Entrance.
A special way to remember a loved one, knowing that the tree you have sponsored will become part of the beauty of Exbury.
Please note that the tree sponsorship scheme does not enable you to adopt a specific tree in the gardens.
The cost of sponsoring a new tree in the gardens is £250 including your memorial plaque.
Please click here to read the terms and conditions of our Memorial and Sponsorship scheme. By sponsoring a tree, it is assumed you have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
Memorial Benches
Sponsoring a bench gives you the opportunity to honour your loved one’s memory with a special place to visit, sit, remember and reflect in our tranquil gardens. The bench can provide a focal point for family and friends in beautiful and peaceful surroundings.
For a gift of £1,800, you can sponsor a new bench for 10 years. Each memorial bench features a plaque for your personal message.
Please click here to read the terms and conditions of our Memorial and Sponsorship scheme. By purchasing a memorial bench, it is assumed you have read and accepted these terms and conditions.
Leave a gift in your will
Please consider leaving a gift in your will to help maintain, improve and develop the gardens for future generations to enjoy. Please email [email protected] if you or a loved one would like further details.
