By Design, the well-known South of England textile group, with many members in Hampshire, launches its latest exhibition, ‘Secrets’, at Exbury Gardens.
The theme ‘Secrets’ has inspired many ideas, from locks and keys to dark family secrets, from secret gardens to private passions.
Each of the nine experienced makers presents a pair of wall hangings, one made solely by the originator and the other worked on by three other members in turn, resulting in a fascinating display of ideas: the pairs sometimes echoing each other and sometimes showing marked contrasts.
Alongside these, each member will show a favourite piece from By Design’s back catalogue, inspired by their natural surroundings.
Whatever the subject, the exhibits are always colourful, beautifully crafted and thought provoking.
